HEBI Robots are Changing the World

How we were built.

Founded in 2014, HEBI is made up of a cross-disciplinary team originating from the world-renowned Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. Born in the CMU Biorobotics lab, HEBI is led by Professor Howie Choset and specializes in both robotics hardware and software with a core focus on motion control.

Our first modular platform was unveiled in 2016, and is now used across the world by researchers, universities and in the industrial sector. Behind Professor Choset is a team of PhD researchers, engineers and technicians with experience creating robotic solutions for the aerospace industry, space flight and the military endeavors, among others.

Innovation drives everything at HEBI, as we seek to make robots more accessible, dynamic and commonplace in modern business than ever before. By evolving the very idea of what robots are capable of, we can solve problems and provide new opportunities that expand the horizons of humanity. Careers at HEBI




HEBI is transitioning from a purely product-based company to one that offers products plus development services and automation solutions.  This evolution creates exciting opportunities for motivated and talented individuals that want to help us change the way robots are done.

We are looking for full time employees and interns (preferably after their junior or senior year) who are interested in joining a small, motivated cross-disciplinary team of roboticists to change the way robots are made.
